Activism beyond the Interface: The sandbox project is "a community art project by Alessandra Renzi and Roberta Buiani consisting of a series of production labs and collaborative interventions in different cities [...] The project invites activists, artists and techies to reflect upon the coexistence of diverse tactics, strategies and performative actions gathered under the umbrella term “activism”".

It was initiated by artists & cultural organisations and encourages people to participate through special events. Activism beyond the Interface: the sandbox project is transnational in orientation and concerned with participation

It was launched in October 2011 and is ongoing.
