Wikimania 2014 is "a 4000-person conference, unconference, festival, meetup, workshop, hackathon, and party, spread over five days in August 2014, preceded and followed by fringe events. There shall be a full programme of talks, workshops and discussions where you can learn about what people are doing and how you can take part".
It was initiated by government; artists & cultural organisations; designers & developers; non-governmental organisations/charities; social movement activists; researchers, scientists & educators; media organisations, and for-profit enterprises and encourages people to participate through a special event. Wikimania 2014 is global orientation and concerned with research, knowledge production & information access.
It takes place in August 2014.
