What impact will Trump's victory have on international politics?

Updated Friday, 20th January 2017

OU academics from the Department of Politics and International Studies discuss the impact of Donald Trump's election victory on international politics and America's relationship with other countries.

International politics, and America’s relationship with other countries, formed a critical part of Trump’s election campaign. His often strident statements on foreign affairs raise fundamental questions about the future of US foreign policy and the wider implications for cooperation and conflict in the international system. In this audio Tendayi Bloom asks William Brown and Edward Wastnidge about the impact of Donald Trump’s election victory on international politics including the United States’ relations with China, its policy in the Middle East and towards Iran’s nuclear programme, and the impact on existing forms of international cooperation more generally.
