An OpenSTEM laboratory
school providing you with 18 hours of ‘hands on’ experience with an introduction to several
widely used techniques in chemistry and physics. Techniques include preparing
solutions, pipetting, titration, handling radioactive sources, colorimetry and
spectrometry as well as recording data and observations, plotting graphs and
interpreting results. The laboratory protocols covered are designed to
develop good laboratory practice (GLP).
To gain the badge, you must
have successfully participated in all aspects of practical training/techniques at the OpenSTEM ‘Laboratory skills in Science’
Laboratory School (SS001/SS011), and demonstrated awareness of, and working to,
relevant health and safety guidance.
