  • Course learning outcomes

    By the end of reading the material, mentors will be able to:

    • Explain the core purpose and value of mentoring, including how mentors support mentees’ career development while gaining personal fulfilment and new skills themselves. 
    • Identify the key qualities and responsibilities of an effective mentor, such as active listening, maintaining confidentiality, providing constructive feedback, and demonstrating commitment, curiosity, compassion, and strong communication. 
    • Apply foundational mentoring tools and approaches—to help a mentee understand their needs and set meaningful development goals.
