Course

Our primary goal is to facilitate the support of unique academies with an ASC-lite model. Giving the same support as all other typical ASC's. Yet ensuring  academic organisations that would otherwise have been unable to engage with the Cisco Academy programme are able to participate. To make this work, the OUASC is run as a community focussed venture enabling academies to grow and contribute to UK and international vocational computing.

While we are UK focussed, we welcome academies from anywhere around the world who wish to become contributing members of our community. Our preference is to support academies at the lowest possible cost, or typically no cost at all. 

Please take the time to explore this site, understand a little about the Cisco Academy at the Open University, as well as the ethos of the Open University as a whole. The Open University does not derive any direct income from any academies we support. Our vision is that this community development model is used to encourage the teaching of vocational computing in a diverse range of organisations.

Please do read the course with care - while we are open to all, there is no 100% guarantee that we will accept your application. Please take the time to read the following with care - alas, we occasionally receive applications, where we (the OU) or Cisco must decline. NetAcad is a strict CSR (corporate social responsibility) programme - where strict membership criteria is applied.

During this micro-course, we explain how (and why) you must contact us in advance. We are unable to accept membership/affiliation applications from Cisco Academies without prior contact.

We often see experienced, Cisco Academies and community members come to discover more about the Open University ASC as well as understand what may be in it for themselves. Often, after many years - we learn that established Cisco Academies are unaware of the full extent of what is on offer within NetAcad.

If you are not (yet) a Cisco Academy you must use this link to apply. Please do let us know in advance - by emailing cisco-asc@open.ac.uk, as we will be able to reach out to the correct CSR manager who will support and approve your application. 

If we are unaware, we will not be able to support your application. Afterall, we lack the essential mind reading skills.
