Welcome to Life and Career Planning
Welcome to Life and Career Planning, a course created for UN Women’s Second Chance Education programme. We are really pleased that you have chosen to do it and hope you find it useful.
The course should take about 1 hour. It is video-based and features women in different work situations who explain what they like about work and how they achieve a balance with other aspects of their lives. The course will help you to get to know yourself better and to plan a career based on your personal goals.
This course is free and you can earn a UN Women/OU digital badge as your certificate of completion. To earn your badge you must read each page of the course and score 50% or more in the end-of-course quiz.
This course was developed for UN Women’s Second Chance Education programme by The Open University and Cobra Collective, through a participatory video-making approach involving staff from Second Chance implementing partners Real Futures, Australia, Le Ministère de la Promotion de la Femme et de la Famille, Cameroun (MINPROFF), INFOCAP, Professional Assistance for Development Action (Pradan), Arab Women Organization of Jordan (AWO), Arab Network for Civic Education (ANHRE), ProMéxico, ProSociedad and CEMEX.
With no prior experience and through entirely remote training, Real Futures, MINPROFF, INFOCAP, PRADAN, AWO, ANHRE, ProMéxico, ProSociedad, and CEMEX staff organised the filming and gathered the footage for the course.
The project was carried out in 2021 when most of the six countries had various forms of Covid-19 restrictions in place. The countries are Australia, Cameroon, Chile, India, Jordan and Mexico.
