12.1. Case Study

A seventeen year old girl was visited at different times of the day and on different days of the week by her advocate. On each occasion the girl was found in a sparse day room sitting alone with a pile of Lego bricks on a tray in front of her. When challenged about this the staff showed the advocate an activity timetable. However there remained no evidence of any other activity taking place, no choice for the young women and she was not able to describe any other things she had done, places she had visited or people who had visited her.
