The flagship program of the government is the Free Senior High School education. The government has made secondary schools part of the Free Basic Education program, eliminating the financial barrier to high school education. However, the impact on quality brings a lot of questions afore. Additionally, other financial barriers are automatically enhanced due to the introduction and enforcement of the policy. Furthermore, the government invests heavily in STEM education to drive national development. However, there seems to be less interest in primary and early childhood education since public and rural schools are poorly resourced, especially regarding teaching and learning materials.
