I am a software engineer with an interest in air quality. Post corona it really became prominent for me that the air quality in Barcelona is really bad. I ordered 2 monitors a year ago, and shortly followed up these purchases with an air purifier. I live next to an 8 lane road and there is a lot of traffic.

The past month Google integrated one of their aquisitions, Breezometer. I used this app to contast outside measurements with my indoor ones. The website was great as I found it very much aligned in results with my own measurements, however since the integration to google, we cannot see the numbers, only colors. Colors are arbitrary, and as the scales what each country consider "healthy" diverges widely, we cannot rely on them.

Also in the last 3 weeks something happened around the airport of Barcelona and we have hazardous air around there constantly now.

This made me worried and I started to look for ways I could do something about this.

I have found that the FabLab in Barcelona has developed s smart citizen kit to help people measure air quality in an affordable manner.

I am looking for measurement ways but also to find who is it I can talk to from the local government's side, as these results need actions promptly.

I am looking forward to connecting with likeminded people and do something about this.
