Reflect on the world Bank Observation, I belive it is a usuful tool to evaluate teaching practices through nine elements, such as:
- Supportive learning environment: checks if the teacher treats all students with respect.
- Positive behavioural expectations: checks if the teacher sets clear classroom rules and manages misbehaviour appropriately.
- Lesson facilitation: checks if the teacher gives clear explanations and delivers effective lessons.
- Checks for understanding: checks if the teacher observes and asks questions to students to see if they are learning.
- Feedback: checks if the teacher gives helpful advice.
- Critical thinking: checks if the teacher asks open-ended questions that help students develop their thinking skills.
- Autonomy: checks if the teacher gives students choices.
- Perseverance: checks if the teacher encourages students to keep trying when things get difficult.
- Social and collaborative skills: checks if the teacher promotes teamwork and positive peer interactions.
