I do not understand why, given that OER are such relevant resources, Venezuelan schools have not given them the importance they deserve. Research shows that the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) can lead to positive educational outcomes that benefit both students and teachers.
Open Educational Resources are usually free or low-cost, which makes learning more accessible to everyone. In other words, they are an inclusive tool, especially for disadvantaged students.
For example, in my institution, the use of OER is not encouraged, perhaps because it requires infrastructure improvements that involve time and money, such as a stable electricity supply, technology-equipped classrooms, and human technical support to teach teachers about the benefits and importance of these resources and how to use them appropriately.
