12-hour time

A way of telling time using a.m. and p.m. to divide the day into two 12-hour periods.

24-hour time

A way of telling time that counts from 00:00 to 23:59, without using a.m. or p.m.

Alarm

A sound or signal set for a specific time to remind or wake you.


Analogue clock

A clock with moving hands which move clockwise around a dial, pointing at markers to indicate the current hour and minutes past.

The 200th anniversary of an event.


British Summer Time (BST)

The time used in the UK during summer, one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).

The 100th anniversary of an event.


Century

A period of 100 years.


Clockwise

Moving in the same direction as the hands on a clock.
