Topics and activities in this course
This course aims to extend and focus on skills and knowledge introduced in the first three Number Confidence modules (for Everyday Life, Budgeting, and Work). However, you do not need to have completed these modules first.
In this resource, you will be given the opportunity to practise your numeracy skills relating to graphical data in a variety of realistic scenarios. Here are some examples:
- Reading data in a table to compare services and products.
- Finding facts in graphs and charts to inform discussions.
- Comparing findings from surveys to support business decision making.
- Develop depth of understanding of a range of issues.
You can use the workbooks, glossary and useful links in the Resource library to revise different topics, then move on to the Activity zone to test out your skills.
Building confidence can sometimes involve managing or overcoming anxieties associated with numbers. The “You can do this” workbook is designed to help you through this and signpost you to additional support.
Use the quiz to find out which areas you need to practise and, when you're ready, have a go at the interactive story: Data Unlocked.
