• identify and classify particular examples of attacks

• define the terms vulnerability, threat and attack

• identify physical points of vulnerability in simple networks

• compare and contrast symmetric and asymmetric encryption systems and their vulnerability to attack, and explain the characteristics of hybrid systems.
