Conclusion
In this course we have considered the range of settings where work with young people takes place, and begun to think about the purpose of this work and how it might be categorised. We have recognised that the nature of settings for work with young people depends on context and can change in response to external events. However, we have also identified some principles that are relatively constant – such as the centrality of informal education, the development of the ‘voice’ of young people and the importance of doing things together – indeed of simply being together. We have completed the course by taking some of these ideas and applying them to a setting with which you are familiar.
