History of reading tutorial 3: Famous writers and their reading - Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Vernon Lee

Introduction

The purpose of this course is to demonstrate how the UK Reading Experience Database [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] (RED) can be used in a study of the reading habits of a writer, and how this information can be used in a literary study of that writer’s own writing. To this end we will be focussing on the reading experiences of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Vernon Lee. This course builds on the previous two courses, Red_1 and Red_2, and trains users in advanced search functions and close analysis of data.
