Succeed with maths: Maths and you
Introduction
This unit is centred on introductory maths activities and opportunities to try solving them. (Don’t worry: There will be hints for you to use if you get stuck.) Some of these problems may seem more like puzzles than mathematics, and others will clearly fall into the category of maths problems. But all of them bring up points about how to engage in maths and what is useful to know. You’ll also start to learn how to use your calculator.
This unit includes a look at how best to organise yourself to be successful in learning maths. This includes using a maths notebook and making a study plan.
Succeed with maths – part 1 is a free non-accredited course and is an adapted version of the Open University course Y033 Science, technology and maths [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)] , which can be studied for accreditation.
