Summary
In this session, you’ve explored the first part of the DEAL (Describe, Explore, Act, Learn) process. You’ve learned what maths anxiety is, and considered how maths has made you feel when you have studied it before. You’ve learned about how the term ‘maths anxiety’ evolved, the different ways it may manifest, and how it affects people’s interaction with maths. And you’ve seen that while many people suffer from some maths anxiety, it does not stop them from succeeding with their studies.
Session 2 will move to the next circle and Explore maths anxiety as the next part of the DEAL (Describe, Explore, Act, Learn) process. Please remember, your journey may not be linear and at any point you may find benefit from returning to an earlier circle of the process to reconsider or refresh what you have learnt.
