1 Getting ready to study maths
Having learned how maths anxiety can affect your physical health, and how you may respond with procrastination or avoidance, it’s time to move on to looking at strategies to deal with these responses to maths anxiety.
These strategies will employ both cognitive and behavioural approaches. Which approach you’ll choose will depend very much on your personal preferences. You may wish to try out a number of different strategies, making a note of which ones work well for you, with the goal of creating your own ‘toolbox’ of strategies that you can draw upon when you feel your anxiety levels rising.
This session will also place focus on self-care and ways to be proactive when faced with anxiety-inducing maths study.
