Timing: Allow approximately 30 minutes

Use the Student profile template [Tip: hold Ctrl and click a link to open it in a new tab. (Hide tip)]   to create a student profile for the tricky topic intervention you have identified. You can print the template or fill in an electronic version. You will need to think about the student’s:

  1. Personal details such as name, age, occupation (if adult) and nationality
  2. Motivation for studying
  3. Expectations of the learning
  4. Educational background and experiences
  5. Study skills, strengths and weaknesses.

For children in school, 1 and 2 may include their home situation and when, why and how they engage with learning (or not). If you’re feeling artistic, give your student a face and hair too.
