Biography
I finally completed my BA (Hons) Humanities (Open) this year (2017) after 7 years; something I never thought I would achieve. I am very, very proud of this award.I love completing these free courses from the OU. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to study subjects that I love - English and History.
I'm disabled, a carer and wife to my husband - Raymond. I like to keep my mind active, even if my body is not so active these days.
Me? Well, I'm currently 63 years of age (although, sometimes I feel 100!) and I am disabled. Doing anything on a daily basis can be a struggle, but I keep going to the best of my ability. As well as being disabled myself, I am also wife and carer to my husband, Raymond. We've been married 11 1/2 years, to date. The "In sickness" part of our vows has been more prominent over the last 7-10 years, with many "emergency" dashes to A&E to wait in a cold, uncomfortable A&E Waiting Room for 4 or more hours at a time!
I've recently completed and been awarded a BA (Hons) Humanities (Open). Now I've attained my degree, I'm concentrating on free courses and love the range of subjects available from the OU.I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to study subjects that I love - English and History.
As a result of my degree, I have set up an online Secretarialand Proofreading service, for which I have now studied for, and passed, twoEditing & Proofreading courses (non-OU), in conjunction with OU courses on Summarising text, Communication, Grammar and How to be a critical reader, as I feel these courses will help me to fulfil my dream of becoming a full-time Proofreader.
