      This resource is designed to support adults with numeracy in everyday scenarios. Working life can be full of numerical challenges and so a good grasp of basic numeracy can help you get the job you want and progress in your career.

      The course materials were designed and developed to support Highland Multiply, a UK Government funded adult numeracy programme, delivered by Highland Council through UHI North, West and Hebrides. However, the activities and resources are open to everyone.

      You can can dip in and out of the materials, or work through them in the order presented.

    This course will help you develop the numeracy skills needed to:

    • Facilitate monetary and resource transactions in different contexts.
    • Interpret numerical information to calculate the flow of money and resources in and out of a business.
    • Measure and quantify assets and resources to determine value and business needs.
    • Interpret payroll, pension and numerical employment information to calculate personal income and leave entitlements.
