    • Welcome to Grow your Own Loaf

      This course for primary teachers looks at the importance of soil, some things to think about around planting and how easy it is to grow your own grain in school or at home.

      This online course aims to equip you with the information you need to grow your own loaf.  Before you start growing you need to consider your soil, how to encourage pollinators and of course what you will plant. 

      This course will provide a basic introduction to:

      • Soils and why you need to know your soil type
      • Seeds, planting and biodiversity
      • Wheat and growing your own loaf
      These resources were created by the Royal Highland Education Trust.
