What are features of an Inclusive School.

Creating an Inclusive school does not happen by itself it entails a partnership among different stakeholders.

Two important features of an inclusive school are; creating a positive teaching-learning environment by the teachers and school administration that will embrace all learners and provide them with a quality education that meets their individual needs as they experience the education experience along with their peers.  It also involves thinking about creative ways to make the school a place where all children can participate even if it means trying to allocate resources for materials for students and or conduct training courses for teachers to learn to teach in different ways or designing their lessons so that all children can be involved.

Having strong leadership with a positive attitude for inclusion from the school principal will create an effective inclusive school because he/she will seek out for resources to determine the most effective ways of providing quality education in an inclusive environment.
