Kelvenne, first step is to empower oneself with knowledge of what inclusivity means. We have already learnt that change in attitude is key, accepting that people have different abilities and have somethhing worthwhile to contribute to the society. I believe by the end of the two courses that we are learning, we will have acquired the necessrary skills to enable us go back to our workplace and create an inclusive culture.

Well put Rose. Thanks. Inclusive ethos (the soft skills) when learnt and practiced will definitely result to an inclusive culture.

Cultural hybridization can create a myriad of learning opportunities for our students. As educators, we need to be the exemplars.

Excellent question, Kelvenne. Thank you for posting. My response from a general teacher's perspective is to value each student and what they bring to the classroom/school and establish a respectful class climate, one that is conducive and welcoming to ALL students.
