Activity 1.4 Developing Positive Attitudes

An experience I once had with a child in grade 5, is that he have several different disabilities. one of which was his speech. each child were to present and he couldn't pronounce few words well. he knows what it is but his speech was off when pronouncing it. The class kept laughing at him and he was saddened. his classmates kept calling him the names of the words of which he was unable to say right. So what I did, I took some time out and showed the class a video of a child with speech problems and how we should care for them. I explained to them how important it is to love our classmates and not make fun of them. this really helped majority of the kids with their behavior towards the child.

A very good response in reducing that problem in your class.

Great! This was quite good approach Doyla for helping kids in your class develop inclusion ethos.
