Working with families

As a part of creating an inclusive school, families need to be considered because it is not only creating an inclusive school but also inclusive communities for children with disabilities to lead productive lives and to be a part of their community. Creating a positive ethos that will trickle right into the school. Families also need our support and they have a lot to offer. For any inclusive program to be effective there must be a partnership among the school administration and staff, child and families. Working with families you learn a lot from them about their child and you can provide them with resources, strategies, and support for them to accept and better assist their child in order for them to lead productive lives.
