Creating an inclusive ethos

My first step as an educator is to empower myself with the knowledge of what inclusivity means. I have already learnt that changing my attitude is key; we have to embrace our special learners so that they will be able to contribute to the society in a positive way. I believe that by the end of this course I will learn the necessary skills to enable me to go back to school and create an inclusive culture.

Creating an Inclusive Ethos

Yes Joy. As educators we need to embrace our special needs learners because each child can learn but at different speeds. Also, when we embrace special needs learners we are allowing them to realize their fullest potential and use their abilities to effect change at the school level and the wider society. To me embracing all learners and their uniqueness reflects that they are valued and it shows that as teachers every child matters.
