Professional Development

Honestly, I have had no in-service training, except the crash courses a have taken as part of the course outline for the program of studies for my degree. Yet In have had a couple of students with whom I interacted with who had some kind of disability. At the Primary level, it was my colleagues who had the children in their class. At the secondary level, I had the opportunity to have a child with a special need, but it was for a short time since the child was taken for special treatment abroad. I helped the child with the little I knew and with a positive attitude.

Congratulations Samuel for joining this course. It will contribute significantly to your professional development. Next time you have a child who is differently abled in your class or school, you will be better equipped with professional skills to assist and teach.

Samuel I am sure this course will help you to gain much needed knowledge that will help you to deal with the learners who have special needs. Also help you to share with your colleagues on how to create an inclusive school.
