Two features of an inclusive school:
Assessments: In order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the learners assessments are very important. This feature analyses the needs of the learners and the appropriate approaches necessary to enable them to acquire a meaningful educational foundation in order for them to become independent. To ensure effective inclusiveness in my school, an assessment committee is created. The committee responsibilities includes:
-selecting and guiding diagnostic, screening, formative/summative assessments and all needs assessments
-produce monitoring activities
-processes the learners' work, analyses data and generates performance reports and summary reports.
Another feature that is important is support, which promotes learners participation and inclusion. In this area, support for teachers and our learners can be accessed through our resource management team. The team's function is to:
- make sure that the available resources are suitable
-support curriculum, assessments, literacy
-advise on distribution and effective use of the resources
