A welcoming school

The school  I work with has set some principles to welcome and admit any child whether whether with disabilities or without. The school administration encourages teachers to always advocate for learners with disabilities. This has helped in increasing the number of learners with disabilities and thus they participate in teaching and learning process.

Great. You note this week we have concluded that we all support inclusive ethos in our schools and make the values and beliefs which we hold visible in the way we create our general school climate.

At our ECCE centres a teacher is present every morning at the front door to welcome every child with their parent. This helps the teacher to interact with the parents. It is also a time to find out weather the child may be upset, anxious or is having a bad morning.

Lisa  I agree . I have seen the benefits of this at the ECCE Centre where I am employed. One there is a collaborative relationship between the parents and staff, it aids in building trust and eliminate anxiety among our learners.
