Creating an inclusive ethos and culture.

Two factors that are important in creating an effective ethos and culture in a school are:

1) Positive partnerships between all parties involve in the child's life that is, administrator, teacher, parents, and community plays a pivotal role in creating a positive school ethos.

2)Enabling staff to be flexible, reflective and collaborative, to support the individual needs of children.

Creating an inclusive ethos and culture

Yes Sally I totally agree with your contribution. I would like to add firstly that there is a misconception of what encompasses special needs and this has to be addressed as this will inform teachers' understanding and practice.  Secondly, teachers need to demonstrate a positive mindset towards children with special needs. These are two mitigating factors which play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive ethos and culture in the school.
