Activity 1.2: What makes an inclusive school?

Greetings,

  • Designing a school which supports all students. Schools should facilitate students on wheel chairs. There are schools built with ramps and a few classrooms built with raises by the doors to allow for easy entry.
  • Developing education goals according to each child’s abilities. This means that children do not need to have the same education goals in order to learn together in regular classes.
Regards.

Karen, designing schools that support all learners is very good. Education goals can  be similar for all learners but this would require  a skilled teacher who can organize for different learning experiences/activities for learners with different abilities. Teacher training is therefore crucial as well as inservice short courses.
