Significantly, the attitudes of teachers and the physical environment are important elements of a learning environment that reflects Inclusion and Diversity. For the most part, teachers should be trained to apply effective strategies and approaches that reflect appropriate practices. The greatest benefit of teachers developing positive attitudes towards Inclusion is the opportunity to eliminate or significantly reduce the barriers that seek to segregate students with diverse needs and challenges. Children should have access to all areas in the setting, including the activities, learning spaces, equipment and resources. When designing outdoor and indoor areas, educators should focus on the developmental needs of children. The greatest challenge posed to children with disabilities is not being fully accommodated in the learning environment.
