1.3 Features of an Inclusive School

For a school which you are familiar with, reflect on what each circle might represent in practice.

Such inclusion means that the four As are visible:
  • Availability - schools are available throughout the country
  • Accessibility - schools must be accessible for all students, regardless of the disabilities.
  • Acceptability - services must be acceptable to all concerned, not deemed prejudicial or discriminatory
  • Adaptability - services rendered must be adaptable so that students' unique needs are met.
