What needs to be done

Teachers need to be involved and engaged in the continuous Professional Development needs assessment. Teachers are the ones to tell what they really like to be trained on. If they this their own, they will also find a way to meet and discuss challenges and how to overcome them. So they need to get involved in whatever is done to have CPD.

Good suggestion Jean and this reminds us to always involve our learners in class irrespective of their learning abilities. Very important aspect of an inclusive class/school.

Sure, teachers should be involved in the planning and implementation of the professional development courses. The school management needs to facilitate, and set the right environment to encourage full and honest participation by all the teachers as the one in the Tanzania case. Teamwork and collaboration were key factors for better outcomes.

I agree that teachers should be involved. In the case study the researchers provided the theory while the teachers implemented. They were involved in the practice.

Yes Lisa and Samson teachers should be trained in the way they are expected to teach in class, they experience in their own learning and they do the same for their students.

I do agree with you Jean, teachers need to be involved through their staff meetings in being vocal in sharing their views on areas of school life to better the learners and themselves in professional development training. These sessions will bring about change and the way forward for all involve in the school life. These trainings should be geared towards what the school is facing based on reports and observation seen. These professional development trainings should be ongoing.

I agree, teachers should be involved in the Professional Development this will help with planning for all learners. Collaboration of teamwork makes the dream work.
