3. How they will monitor progress, share information and review pupils’
support needs.
Many
schools have a variety of policies and practices in place to encourage ongoing
progress monitoring, information sharing and reviewing students' support needs
in order to help all of their students. They also track and record everything
in great detail. A variety of assessment methods are used to
monitor students' developmental progress in schools that I am familiar with.
Observation and narrative recording, developmental checklists, anecdotal
records and most importantly students’ work are examples of some well-known
assessments. I've seen how valuable information gathered on their students'
progress and accomplishments is effectively used to ensure that all students
achieve and as a result of using these assessments, the teachers were also able
to reflect on their own teaching and evaluate the effectiveness of the
instructional strategies they used. Discussions were also held with staff and
parents in order to share information and through collaboration, the teachers,
administrator, and parents devised strategies and meaningful ways to review
students' needs and ways to consistently provide the assistance needed for all
involved.
