In the schools here in Trinidad ,we have policies where special aides are assigned to children in regular schools who may help them cope at the same pace with the others. These aides help in areas that our special/disabled children may not be able to handle by themselves but are supported to make sure that their needs are met and in a timely manner for example students who may have eyesight problems, reading issues, immobility etc. Also, we the social workers are also here to unsure proper social functioning of these children are being catered for together with guidance officers.
