Using The Learning Environment For students with Disabilities

Discussion on Point 3 -Policies for an inclusive ethos and culture:

I know of a school locally that has been designated as a "model school' for promoting an Inclusive environment. The actual physical layout was designed to include students with physical impairments (ramps, extra large doorways), designated room for use by special education staff and other auxillary staff, and sharing of dedicated resources. I can say that whenever there are clear policies in place and a design that is conducive to inclusion, it becomes that more easier for staff to 'buy in' to the whole framework.
