Activity 2.9 Teacher as role model

What I have gathered from the TESSA IE toolkit after reviewing it is that teachers should be a good role model, positive exemplars as their attitudes, personality, use of language and behaviours contribute to learning and the learning environment and reflect on their students behaviours as well. This will help to encourage, motivate and build student’s self-esteem, character, promote positive values as an individual and towards others through communication.

Teachers as role model

Yes teachers should become positive role models as their  attitude will help to influence children's attitude as well as if  the  teacher is excited about learning  so to will the child  the child will feed off  the energy of the teacher be it negative or positive so teachers have to be careful what they model it must reflect value, self esteem and  confidence that will allow children to develop  respect for the teacher and value their influence as a teacher.
