Polices for an inclusive ethos and culture

In my perspective, an important policy that will foster positive results in any inclusive institution is “how they will monitor progress, share information and review pupils support needs. Placing emphasis on building a system that works to track the progression of students will help children to develop holistically as well as give parents a sense of security to know that their children are capable and can develop no matter their circumstances. Every parent wants to hear that their child is moving from point A to B.

This policy can be implemented through the use of assessment and evaluation during daily activities. Provide spread sheets and checklist for records as well as observational recordings. Educators must then set up parent teacher conferences and discuss these records, discussions of intervention or strategies can be suggested for both teacher and parent to work with. Give a time line for improvement as well as keep follow up conferences for consistency.

This policy would contribute to an ideal inclusive ethos and culture because it will provide teachers, parents and children with support as they all work together as a team to reach their ultimate goal of inclusion in a progressive system.
