2.2 Policies for an inclusive ethos

In the Ecce setting, progress is monitored, teachers share information to assist each other and as a result of this, pupils’ support needs are reviewed. 

This is done via the observation and recording assessment that needs to be filled in daily for each individual child. Through this medium, the child’s strengths and weakness, regression or progression is dated and recorded. 

This practice supports inclusive practice, as it is done for each child and the individual child's weaknesses are built upon. For example, If a child is having difficulty in holding a crayon properly, the adult gives the child activities that would aid in developing his/her fine motor control, eg, manipulating play dough.
