I remembered going to school, where very little accommodations were made for a student with a physical disability. While the Teachers were ready to assist the student in the classroom, the physical structure of the school was problematic. She had to climb stairs, which proved quite difficult for her. To make matters worst, students often made fun at her until she eventually gave up on her education and never returned to school. 

The school never had a programme to sensitize the student body to assist where possible or to see her as someone like themselves, needing an education too.
