Features of an inclusive school

Features of an inclusive school should take into consideration a teacher's ability to work in cohesion with other stakeholders while engaging in ongoing research and practices to cater to each child's needs. The school should provide an adaptable physical environment where inclusion is openly seen and can be discussed. The environment should be easily maneuverable for children with disabilities and should promote a welcoming culture of openess and transparency. Resources play a key role in creating an inclusive school. Children should be able to access developmentally appropriate resources which will enable them to have a sense of belonging in the school and a sense of pride and self worth that they can achieve their goals irregardless of their disabilities.
