Managing Behavior Positively

When I began teaching, one method of positively managing behavior which worked for me was praising the child on his accomplishments. I also kept him close to me during tasks to minimize disruptions to the classroom and the learning environment. By doing this, it reassured the child that myself, as the teacher, cared about him and acknowledged his hard work and dedication to tasks that were completed. Ideally, my practice is guided by Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and I saw from the implementation, the positive results that were attained.
