A professional development experience which assisted in the improvement of my practice were a course for Special Needs Children. This course has expanded my thinking and knowledge on strategies to help teach students with various disabilities. The knowledge acquired has brought awareness to a variety of practices, activities, resources and techniques that can be included in lessons to teach these students. I’m also more efficient and comfortable with these practices that it has become easier to determine which strategy would be suitable for teaching a child with a specific disability.
