Activity 1.5- Ethos

Two factors that contribute to an inclusive ethos are demonstration of love and respect for all children and positive home-school relationships. Administrators and teachers must create an environment where respect and acceptance are not only spoken of but are actively demonstrated. When other students see this, they will model this positive behavior.

Developing positive relationships between parents and teachers also aids in creating the desired ethos. Parents must feel comfortable to visit the school and share experiences. The school must be a place that they can look to for support and encouragement.

This is so true. Being able to work together to reach a common goal is important.

I agree with teachers and parents having a positive relationship because the connection between home and school plays an important role in the child's school life.

Candice I agree with  those factors are critical for all stakeholders as administrators and teacher prepare the foundation for the positive outcomes desired at schools. Positive relationships and attitudes  and support goes a long way fostering  great outcomes in schools.

I agree teachers and parents need to have a positive relationship because this gives the teacher a better understanding of the child and the teacher can plan keeping in mind the needs of the child.

This is a valid point Candice especially for teachers who work in rural communities. I can personally say parents and children who come from rural communities welcome such positive relationships from teachers. They welcome an environment where there contributions are valued.
