Activity 1.5

Two factors that I think are effective in contributing to am inclusive ethos and culture i a school are :-

1.  An open door policy . This allows parents to be able to visit the school whenever there is a concern  or problem, knowing that they have the full support of the teachers and that they are welcomed.   They must know that teachers will work together with them to do what is in the best interest of the child.

2.  Regular training of teachers,  This is a factor that will definitely have a positive effect on the ethos or culture of any school, as teachers need to be constantly upgrading themselves through new knowledge and keeping abreast of new strategies/studies that can help in catering for the needs of children with disabilities.  It also gives teachers an opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow teachers from other school and environments.

Yes, Teacher training should be ongoing as we need to keep abreast with new research and strategies.
