Act. 2.7 Positive Behaviour Management Strategies

I observed a lesson taught by student teacher. This lesson revealed something about lapse in maintaining class discipline.

The student teacher started teaching, then after teaching the first activity in his lesson, things begun to of out of hand. Two learners at the back of the classroom started to make noise. It was reported that one learner grabbed off the pen of another learner. The two attracted attention of rest of the learners. There was noise. The teacher failed to control the noise.

During feedback session, I asked the student teacher if he had some classroom rules. He admitted that he had them and were developed by himself.. Then I pointed out that classroom rules should be developed by the learners together with their teacher and not the teacher alone.

The rules should be set out at the beginning of the term!
